Evaluation of Conformity
Standards and Draft Standards
A standard is a techical document designed to be used as a rule, guideline or definition. Standards are created by bringing together all interested parties such as manufacturers, consumers and regulators of a particular material, product, process or service. All parties benefit from standardization through increased product safety and quality as well as lower transaction costs and prices.

Evaluation of Conformity
The evaluation of conformity is the process by which a manufacturer shows that the product is in conformity with the harmonised European Standard (hEN). This consists of Factory Product Control (FPC) and Initial Type Testing (ITT). In the case of construction products and glass in building in particular, a product has to comply with the requirements of the evaluation of conformity in order to bear the CE marking.
