Issues
Part of the Mission of Glass for Europe is to represent the different sections of our industry in a dynamic, responsible and responsive manner on relevant policy and regulatory matters vis-à-vis the EU institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg and to other international organizations elsewhere.
It is the goal of Glass for Europe – as forward-looking, innovative providers of state-of-the-art products and technologies – to make timely and constructive input to the different policy-making processes that are relevant to the flat glass industry. Wherever we can we aim to promote solutions that contribute to the enhanced sustainability, safety, security and comfort of the world in which we live.
This area of the website provides further background information about the issues that are of particular relevance and importance for the flat glass industry and its main derived products for the building and automotive and transport sectors. These areas of public policy present challenges and opportunities for society at large and for our products and our companies in particular.
No matter what the field, it is essential to achieve balanced solutions that are sustainable from an economic, environmental and social standpoint. All are vital to the overall competitiveness of our society in the long term.
