External Fire Exposure to Roofs

Glass for Europe members have detected problems with regard to the standard external fire performance for roofs (EN 13501-5 -- European Norm: Fire classification of construction products and building elements - Part 5: Classification using data from external fire exposure to roofs tests). Our members have noted that some notified testing laboratories designated to make test methods in EN 13501-5 are not designated to test glass products as such. We have asked the European Commission to provide a classification. This need is due to the removal of glass from the original list of deemed to satisfy materials. This has been done without providing explanation.
